What is the title of financial planner?

In Quebec, anyone who calls themselves a financial planner must have a diploma from the Institut québécois de planification financière (IQPF). To obtain it, the candidate must first complete a university program in financial services and then pass the IQPF's professional training course and exam. This organization has nearly 5,000 members.

In which areas are you specialized?

Financial planning is a broad field that integrates knowledge and skills from the following seven areas of expertise: legal aspects, insurance and risk management, finance, taxation, investments, retirement, and estate planning. We are the only professionals who have received training that allows us to have a comprehensive view of your financial situation, and that is our strength.

How are you different from other advisors?

We advocate a financial planning approach in which we focus our efforts on building a personalized plan based on your goals. We believe that it is more beneficial to separate the financial planning service (for which we charge a fee) from the sale of financial products. This way, we are not forced to sell you financial products in order for you to benefit from our services. This limits the potential for conflicts of interest.

Who is your target clientele?

We work with individuals who are approaching retirement and want to make sure they have the resources they need to live comfortably, or who have already retired and want to maximize their income and preserve their standard of living. We understand the unique challenges you face at this stage of life and offer personalized strategies to optimize your wealth and achieve your retirement goals.

As a client, how often can I expect to meet with you?

You can expect at least two meetings each year. However, do not hesitate to contact us between these meetings if you have urgent questions or significant life changes. We are here to support you throughout your financial journey.

How are you compensated?

Our compensation is mixed. It may include financial planning fees or commissions when financial products are sold.

Is there a fee for my first consultation?

We offer the first consultation free of charge. The purpose of this meeting is to determine your needs and understand your concerns, as well as to define your objectives. At the end of this meeting, you will have a clear idea of the mandate you are entrusting us with and the remuneration associated with it if you decide to move forward.
